Karzok, Leh

Karzok is a village in the Leh district of Ladakh, India. It is located close to Nyoma, in the Rupshu region and block, on the shores of the Tso Moriri lake. It is among the highest towns in the world and the highest settlement in India.

Karzok is a predominantly Buddhist village and is home to the Korzok Monastery, a Drukpa Kagyu monastery founded in the 17th century. The monastery is home to about 70 monks and is a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world.

Karzok is a good base for exploring the Tso Moriri Lake and the surrounding area. There are a number of homestays and guesthouses in the village.
